trying to install the Madwifi drivers (followed instructions to install from YUM/atrpms)
The card is a D-link dwl g650

I find this error in /var/log/messages. I am not quite sure what it means.
The driver worked fine in FC3 now I'm upgraded to FC4 and I can't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

i have the same card and i cannot get it too get i ip address. i cannot ping the router your nothing but i can do iwlist scan and when i do iwconfig and ifconfig it sees my card.. if i open up kwifimanger it even see my router but no ip address. i gonna check my messages and see what they look like..
just a guess but did you put

The error above appears to me to indicate the driver is invalid for the kernel you are currently running. You probably need to get an updated driver, one that was compiled for your kernel version.
