Hey guys,
Sorry to make a new post, but I couldn't find any other posts specific to my topic...
So I got FC4 and did a clean install. I logged in for the first time and had localhost as my host, yet I was connected to my cable modem directly for the entire install. I have a Linksys gigabit network card in my box, but at the time I was connected to the cable modem by USB. I was getting tons of packets, and had resolved my IP address, but still had the localhost problem and couldn't connect to any websites. My connection usually automatically resolves the host and IP through DNS, and I don't even have to touch my network settings in FC3 to get online.
Now that might be enough information but something else strange was happening. My USB network adapter was named "Linksys Gigabit Network Adapter." However, that network card was not connected to a network cable. I thought this might be the problem, so I shut down, removed my network card, and rebooted. Then I had the correct name for my USB network adapter, but still the problem not having the correct host. I also tried plugging into my modem with a network cable through my network card, but FC4 didn't recognize the connection at all. It would not activate because it said the device was not present.
The reason I was connecting through my USB device was that FC3 didn't come with drivers for my network card. I figured FC4 probably didn't either, so I connected through USB.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Edit:
I just saw this update listed. Could that static IP problem be the one that I'm facing?
