Hello All!
I have done extensive research in the forums and on Google, but can't seem to find the answer to my question.
I downloaded the PowerPC DVD install ISO image and burnt it successfuly. I then booted the PB with the install DVD in the drive. It goes through very few steps and gets hung after the last line shown below (this is a copy from the boot screen):

===============
pmac_init(): exit
id mach(): done
MMU: enter
MMU: hw init
hash: enter
hash: find piece
hash: patch
hash: done
MMU: mapin
MMU: setio
MMU: exit
setup_arch(): enter
===============

After this nothing seems to happen, even after 3 hours. No response to keyboard, mouse, etc. I tried "linux", "linux nofb" and "linux text" to no avail! :(

Am I the only lonely soul out there trying to install FC4 on my PB? Can someone with more experience than me (probably all the rest of you:-) ) help me out?

Thanks,
--selim

Ouch... I was going to install FC4 PPC on my PowerBook G4 12", too. Thank goodness I looked in here. Hope there will be a solution to this problem...

I'm not sure if this isn't a problem specifically related to the DVD iso. You could always burn a copy of the CD iso disc 1 and see if it gets going just to test...

Worked perfect for me from the DVD iso, the only issues i'm having are with the trackpad and airport extreme.

The issue with the DVD iso is inconsistent, but if you do an advanced search on the forum regarding it you'll see that other people have reported similar problems with the DVD iso.

As for your airport extreme, good luck on that one, I think there are a lot of people who are trying to get that to work. :/ I believe its broadcom based and proprietary?

Yes but there's the MOL solution, i'm unsure if it's been used with Fedora however.
