hi,
when I boot fedora from the cd and the setup starts the x-server my monitor goes in standby mode. I see the msg for probing my gfx, my monitor and my maus, then the x-server start.
I also tried starting the setup with some commands like
noprobe
nofb
skipddc
apm=off
but none of these worked with my system. (My system: amd xp 1800, 1024 MB RAM, ecs kt7a, gf4 ti4200, lg 1701b dvi). Does somebody know something else I could try?
the only way I was able to get the setup started was using the command "linux headless", there I get the msg that some with the graphics was missing and then he starts the textmode. so far so good.
now the partioning:
On my harddrive I have one 7gb partion for w2k, a 5gb partition for xp, I made a 6gb unformatted partition for linux, and at the end I got a 60gb fat32 partition.
I want to install fedora on that 6gb partion; I know its recommanded to create a swap partition, so thats what i did. Using the disk druid I created a 1024mb big swap partion (made it a primary partition). The remaining 5gb I wanted to use for fedora. but I cant make that partition.
I get the msg that partioning failed (trying to make a ext3 primary partition mountpoint: "/")
can anybody help me out here?
