please tell me if this would be a good modem to purchase, if it isnt compatible/or isnt a good modem, please tell me, and reccomend a different modem

All ethernet adsl modems shold work out of the box. Plug the cables, setup rpppoe and your're done.
Do not buy a usb modem (some work, some don't).
