Up until 24 hrs ago I didn't have this problem. System is as old as FC3. It has all update

When I execute URLS in either Mozilla or Firefox I reach the site but the site hangs trying load more content... even though I think it has all the content displayed.
This doesn't happen with every site ? and I can not account for this.
Also I note that (if you are familiar with Firefox) the upper right screen feather ( Goggle;Yahoo;Ebay;etc....) Goggle access doesn't work? but the other do and with or without the hang I just tried to discribe.

My attention was drawn that something was up prior to this discovery. I run GNOME and it comes with a desk top feature called Dictionary. It was working 24 hrs ago now it reports that it : can not connect to the server. I do not load a firewall when I boot this system... I don't believe I need Firestarter going... please do not take issue with this... However I read that maybe I had to set the port up on outbound with Firestarter. It seems when I execute Friestarter it comes up as "ON" even if I turn it OFF after having just unloaded it from memory. But to the point...I installed port 2628. This seemed eliminated the connect error when I ran Dictionary but it could not resovle the address to the dictionary server.

I later discoverd that even without the port assignment in Firestarter... that simply turning the firewall off and on eliminated the connection error but it still couldn't resolve the a address.

I'm afraid my FC3 is going down the tubes... I don't have any idea what going on. Were is the problem? Something wrong with my network connection... Oh I have a LAN sytem of two computers one being this machine and the other a MS XP mahcine. The XP is working fine, I have Firefox on it and it does not have this problem.

I replace my ethernet card and this fixed the problem? so I guess the old card was failing....prior to this experience I would have though a hardware works 100% or not at all... I guess that's not the case

thanks :)
