Hi, I am a newbie having a HP DV1000 laptop with FC4. I saw 8139too when using dmesg.

However, I can not active eth0. When booting, it shows:
Determining IP .... SIOCSIFFLAGS Invalid argument.

And when I enter "ifconfig", I do not see the part of eth0, just only "lo: ...."
I use dhcp to obtain IP.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you very much.

Can you post your /sbin/lspci we need to see if hardware is there.

Hi, thanks for your help. Currently, my usb thumb drive does not work with FC4. I do not know why and try to work it out. So I can not have the full output of lsmod.

/sbin/lsmod, I saw the following line:
06:00.0 Ethernet controller Realtek Semiconductor Co. Ltd RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)

Furthermore, in dmesg | grep eth0, I also saw RTL-8100/8139D

Thank you very much
