I didn't know Fedora kernels gave this problem. Are you not using FC3 or FC4 ? Are you sure that you are using the latest kernel?
If the above things don't solve your problem, you'll have to re-compile the kernel. In the kernel configurator, go into Kernel Hacking . Press Y for Kernel Debugging and make sure Use 4Kb for kernel stacks instead of 8Kb is N. I don't think this will be required if you se the latest kernel

The 4k stack warning is just that... a warning. It may work, it may not. I got the same warning when loading drivers for my RT2500 chipset, and I am currently at full speed on my 802.11g network.
Continue with the instructions at ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net. Don't give up yet.

[root@localhost WG111_SW1.2Beta13]# ndiswrapper -i netwg111.inf
Installing netwg111
and [root@localhost WG111_SW1.2Beta13]# ndiswrapper -i wg111nd5.sys
Installing wg111nd5.sys
[root@localhost WG111_SW1.2Beta13]# ndiswrapper -m
Adding "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper" to /etc/modprobe.conf
[root@localhost WG111_SW1.2Beta13]# modprobe ndiswrapper

If you see the messages displayed while/after you compile ndiswrapper, you'll find that they do not give guarantee that ndiswrapper will work with 4K stacks. It is displayed right after the error message that you mentioned

you can also added livna repo http://rpm.livna.org/configuration.html#Core4 to either your /etc/yum.conf or /etc/yum.r.repo directory and then can do a yum install ndiswrapper.

I don't think you'll need to recompile the kernel. Try the latest kernel first. If you are using the ndiswrapper source, then you should re-compile it for the new kernel.
Anyway, if you have to recompile the kernel, refer any recompile fedora kernel tutorial like this on the fedora-list (https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-July/msg02967.html) or this one (http://www.mndar.linux-fan.com/)

hi
any 1 know this error when 1 activate in network configuration
error for wireless request "set encode" (8B 2A)
set failed on device wlan0; invalid argument
Hi again, after weeks of install uninstall with this ndiswrapper i finally worked out what the invalid argument was, well i think is was, it was the channel my USB Wireless card was using, 11, 13 channel wouldn't login to my router. changed to 7 bingo settings are Managed , channel 7, transmit rate auto
now to install the xsupplicant....
