according to the threads this intel card is not supported as yet unless you want
to build/compile custom kernels.

i installed one of the net kernels and the adapter appears to work except
that it goes to sleep and can no longer be accessed from outside the machine unless
you reboot or ping some address from inside (the machine with the nic)

the kernel is 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4.netdev.8smp

the keepalive in ifconfig is not supported for this nic

should i just throw in another nic and saw this one from the motherboard?

i would, i have an intel 1000ct or something onboard, it works fine but if you put more than about 5mb of traffic over it, it hard crashes the machine, needing the power cable to be yanked!

i stuck a 7usd pci realtek 8169 in there and it is actually a bit faster and uses less cpu.
