Hi all! My first post :)

I've got a Speedtouch USB modem here, one of the old ones (green stingray). I've got the driver/firmware working fine under Fedora and dmesg tells me the modem is up and sync'ed and the speeds I'd expect.

However, I followed the instructions at http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/fedora/index.html in the hope that I'd be able to define this ADSL PPPoA connection as an 'interface' so I can use the machine as a router. However having followed the instructions there and rebooting, the machine hangs at 'bringing up interface PPP0' for however long I've set the timeout to be.

Note : I know the modem driver/firmware and details (such as chap-secrets etc...) are correct since if I create a peer file (speedtch) I can get on the net no problem using 'pppd call speedtch' but this isn't the way I'd like to do it if possible.

Could anyone let me know if the method I've linked to above is incorrect or whether there is a way to get my PPPoA interface up and running as a proper 'interface'.

Any help much appreciated.
