I previously posted this in the hardware forum, but I think it's more appropriate here....

Hi all. I am new to Linux. I got my motorola wireless card running on FC4 with GNOME. I am using Firefox 1.0.7 and everything is really really slow. When I type iwlist wlan0 scan I get the following:

wlan0 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:0F:66:44:15;32
ESSID:<my ssid>
Protocol:IEEE 802.11b

Now my router is WRT54G and it is running in G mode. Why does the scan say 802.11b? Also when I first
boot up and login. I have to type iwconfig wlan0 <my ssid> enc <my wep key> in order to get an internet connection, even though I have everything set up under network device control. ANy suggestions???
