Hi,
I run FC4 and use multiple network profiles (LAN and sometimes WLAN at work, WLAN at home), but I had the same problem with a single profile as well: if I configure an interface to draw the IP settings via dhcp I only get IP and SN but not the gateway information.
Right now I only use fixed addresses, which works for the LAN and the wireless network at home, but I can't use a fixed address for the WLAN in the office, so basically I can't use WLAN there.
/sbin/route:
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
134.214.58.0 * 255.255.254.0 U 0 0 0 wlan0
169.254.0.0 * 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 wlan0
/sbin/ifconfig:
[...]
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:14:A5:44:20:CA
inet addr:134.214.58.156 Bcast:134.214.59.255 Mask:255.255.254.0
inet6 addr: fe80::214:a5ff:fe44:20ca/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:110 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:27 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:8314 (8.1 KiB) TX bytes:3131 (3.0 KiB)
Interrupt:5 Memory:dfcfe000-dfd00000
This does not only concern the wireless NIC, it does not work either when I use the internal network card to connect to my ADSL modem.
Anybody had the same problem?
Christian
