I want to access my Linux Box from work, but I'm "Not allowed" to install software on my computer. I do have the Windows Remote Desktop Client on my computer. Is it possible to connect to a VNC Server on the Linux Box through the Remote Desktop Client on the Windows machine?

no, you don't (can't) use windows remote desktop to connect to a linux box, but the good news is that you dont have to install anything to run the vncviewer application from windows so you can connect to vnc server on your linux box using the vncviewer application from windows.

What about the xfree86 dependency. I read that xorg replaces that. Will there be any interference? Do you know if xfree86 is hard to configure?

huh?
you want to connect from your windows machine at work to your linux box at home right? why in the world would you want to configure xfree86? you can install the vnc/vnc-server using yum on your fedora box and the viewer (for your windows box) is a single executable. it looks like your trying to make it a lot more difficult than it needs to be.
