ISP complaining about spamming

Hi!

I run FC4, and my internet provider says spam mail is sent from my PC. Could this be true? I have disabled sendmail and have configured the iptables firewall. Is there other possible ways others can use my PC as a 'spam server' without me being aware of this?

Is the internal 'mail' command a possible problem, an how do I disable the mail command?
I don't have a hardware router, only a common ADSL modem.

Try to install ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/), and to check your traffic without doing anything for a few hours or maybe a day. Try to check your computer with http://www.chkrootkit.org/ (bot of the apps are in the repositories)

My ISP had mistaken me for someone else who was spamming.
