Hi all,

I recently upgraded my lab computer from FC2 to FC4. We also upgraded our NIS server to FC4. The other computers in the network are running FC2.

My computer used to work fine earlier with FC2, but now the NFS and NIS have stopped working. I didnt change any config files while upgrading to FC4, so do I need to do something special in FC4 to make them work? mounting /home on NFS fails at startup and ypbind also keeps looking for an NIS server and fails ultimately. The mount and ypbind don't work after startup too.

Anyone facing such problems?

Thanks for the reply but the problem is solved now. Turns out that the problem was with the NIS server and not my machine. The server was recently upgraded to FC4 too but the guy who upgraded it messed up with the permissions of /etc.

Sorry for bothering.
