When you upgrade, it may upgrade things not on CD 1. A minimal install may be touching different packages and needs a different set of CDs.

You did install X Window system? And you didn't have problems installing in graphical mode?

when i put cd1 in cdrom and boot from the cd-untill then not having fc 5 installed my pc- when coming to customize the setup
i choosed kde and gnome enivroment both with full packages-11 of 11 for kde and 44 of 44 for gnome if i remember-in this installation it doesnot need cd 2.
but when booting again from cd,and after searching for previous fedora installation it ask me for developping existing installation or making new one.
after choosing the second choice and customize the setup just like the first installation,in this installation it asks for cd 2 and cd 3 as well.
and i have never complete this installation

Set your default runlevel to 5.

That should try to start X and give some kind of error if X doesn't work.
