changing default apps

quick (& probably easy?) question... how do i cahnge different apps in gnome FC6 to be the default (other than browser, mail & terminal apps found under system->preferences->more preferences->preferred applications)?

like i would rather gthumb open pix rather than fspot for quick viewing... so i would just like to know how i can change the default setting on these apps?

thanks

I remember seeing this question a few days ago when it was a new post. I can't believe that there has been no replies. Is there no one here who can explain how this is done?

I'm not sure if there's an easier way but right click on a 'filename.jpg' and select 'Properties' and go to the 'Open With' tab and choose the app you want to open it with. You will have to do it with every file-type you want to change; gif, png, etc.
