How change/set IP address and change time on multibooting menu?

Hello
I just installed Fedora Core 6 on my laptop. Now I am going to install it on my desktop. I have 3 questions though:

1) How do you enter/change the IP address in Fedora Core 6 Linux after its been
installed ?

2) I am mulitbooting Windows 2003 and Fedora Core 6 Linux. When the computer comes
on the Grub menu only allows 3 seconds to choice another operating system or else it
boots the Fedora Core 6 by default. How can I change it so that Grub gives you 30
seconds to chose the Windows operating system to boot.

3) Where are books and documentation on administering Fedora Core 6 Linux?

1) exec the command "/etc/init.d/network restart" (as root) updates the network interface

2) im not sure, but try "info grub", for the grub manual

3) google

for number to type (in a console like "xterm")

su
<enter root password>
gedit /etc/grub.conf

then look at where the timer command is and change it to what you'd like

then save the file

1) Run system-config-network as root.

2) Edit /boot/grub/grub.conf
Change timeout=3 to timeout=30

I have couple questions myself, why install FC6 when Fedora 7 is out?????

To change ip addresses goto system ->administration ->network, highlight the device and click "edit"

To change the timeout values, open a terminal window and type su - (SU DASH) to give you root permissions and path. Type:

gedit /boot/grub/grub.conf

Scroll down and change the "Timeout=5" value to "Timeout=30" value and save it, reboot

Load Fedora 7
