NTP issues with vmware

After several weeks of hoping that this ntp issue would clear up by its self I thought it was time to open a thread about it. Currently I'm running vmware server on fedora core 9 nad using kernel 2.6.25.14-108.fc9.i686.PAE. All virtual machines are also using the same kernel just not PAE. The host machine syncs its time with an ntp server and all the virtual servers sync their time from the host. The problem is i keep getting flooded with these messages. About 200 a day. These only show up on the console not in the messages. Heres what all of them say.

Sep 29 18:54:00 vmz kernel: /dev/vmmon[22140]: host clock rate change request 1541 -> 1043

the only difference in the messages is the values for the host clock rate change request. Does anyone have any ideas about how to stop these messages or what they mean.

The console messages are probably copied to dmesg rather than messages, i.e. look in /var/log/dmesg.

This may be relevant - browse through the thread: Mailing List Message

dmesg

yes your right this is being logged to dmesg.

#dmesg | tail -1
/dev/vmmon[22140]: host clock rate change request 1496 -> 1043

still can anyone give any insight in how to fix this or suppress it if it not harmful
