Hi, i'm new to linux. I've found very few answers on the internet for this problem. This is not just a problem with fedora, but two other linux distros i've tried. I'm asking here because i've asked elsewhere and i plan to stay with fedora or centos.
All of the sound played on my computer is slightly slow and low pitched.
While the hilarity of every voice sounding like jabba the hut entertained me for a while, it's starting to frusrate me that i can't fix it.
this is probably a sample rate issue, but i haven't found any working solution yet.
the only success stories i've heard have to do with unchecking "Multi Track Locking" in alsa mixer, which does not appear as a switch for me. i think that it might be soundcard specific.
I have an Intel ICH5 soundcard in an older Toshiba laptop running Fedora 10, although by the time this is answered i will have installed 11.
thanks in advance for any advice i can get.

ps - everything else so far has been a real treat
edit: i also hears things about setting the master clock, which is something i have no clue how to access.
