Go to System > Administration > Network (enter root pw)
Click on "New"
Select "xDSL Connection"
You'll need to select which NIC on your computer to bind it to - eth0 if there's only one. Enter the provider name (can be anything really) your Account Type (probably "Normal") and then your username and password provided by your ISP.
Save everything and either do a "service-network-restart" as root in the terminal or reboot and you should be good to.

adsl -pppoe
Hi folks,
I am now running F11. After burning F11 to CD I started F11 in live mode. When it came to setting up adsl I simply clicked on the Network Manager icon, top right, to edit connection. Then I clicked on the DSL tab and put in my info for connecting adsl to my IPS. BINGO! Everything worked great for me in the live CD. So then I installed it to my HD with LVM. The install was good. Then I repeated the same adsl setup I did using the live CD. "Connection Failed" Wait just a minute! It just worked using the Live CD, why not now???? I then connected to the internet going through Administration - Network and setting up a New XDSL connection. But I couldn't get the xdsl connection to connect on Bootup. Always got an error /usr/sbin/adsl-start line 217! So I had to go to "Administration - Network" then enter pw and then activate my adsl. Finally being frustrated with this way of connecting to the internet, I searched for a solution. No solution found. Then I went into the SELinux Management and Disabled it. BINGO! Now I was able to connect to the internet just like I did with the LIVECD, by going to the Network Icon on my upper task bar and setting up the adsl connection in the DSL tab. Then clicked DSL connection 1 in Network Manager.
QUESTION????? WHY WOULD SELinuk have to be Disabled in order for my adsl to work through Network Manager????????

Motra, how did you install ADSL with ethernet cable?
I also use ADSL modem with ethernet cable. When i have created ethernet connection with static IP addresses it did not help. Can you please say what you were doing to configure it.
Then i tried to create xDSL connection in the Network Configuration like zack porposed and some the system said "need to install pppoe".
I have not tried to disable SE Linux, however when i created DSL connection in the Network Manager, i choose the Manual IP static addresses (did not using the PPPoE) and it was created successfully and when i tried to connect through this DSL connection to the internet, it said to enter the login and password of my ISP. I have entered it, but then suddenly some idiot error occurs "Enter password for default keyring unlock".
Motra, say how are you configured your ADSL, i shal try it, if nothing will help, i describe everything what i was doing step by step with images.
Thank you very much
Kostya

this all depends on your internet provider.
Some providers, the PPPoE is done in the DSL modem. On these you setup your connection as an ethernet connection since the modem does all authentication with your ISP. (your username and password are entered into the modem)
Some providers still use the method of your computer doing the PPPoE and the authentication. In these cases, you have to set it up as a PPPoE connection.
to setup your connection as an ethernet connection, you have to know the network address of your modem. (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 but can be any address, you have to check)
for the setup, you just change your regular ethernet connection to use your modem address as the gateway address, and most of the time you can also use your modem address for the DNS address. make sure the network address you use is on the same subnet as your modem. (example: if your modem address is 192.168.1.254 with a netmask of 255.255.255.0, then your ethernet adapter has to have a 198.168.1.xxx address assigned to it. You also should make sure that this is set as the default route.
Your internet connection should be good to go.
You can open your internet browser and enter your modem address to get to the interface in your modem. This is where you will have to set up your user information if your router/modem does the PPPoE for you. They are all different so I really can't explain in detail how to do it here. most have a set up screen you just select from a tab on the main page.

thank you, i have already configured via modem interface, as you have noticed, but not PPPoE, and router regime. And this is without that buggy Network Manager. And a local network also is working fine. Good luck

The thing is.. the method you set up your DSL connection is dependant on your ISP.
If they have it set up for your router to do the PPPoE, then you set up your connection as a regular ethernet connection. If they don't, then you set up the connection as xDSL and use PPPoE.
and if you noticed, a lot of ISP's will not even talk to you about install problems if you mention that you run linux. really sad if you ask me, since most of the internet runs on some form of a *nix OS.
