Hi all, i'm running fedora 11 on Dell inspiron and Palimpsest Disk Utility reports hard disk failure. I'm not sure it's the reason my laptop reboots itself while i'm using? But i've never experienced that on windows though(dual boot). Can anyone help me?
How often does it happen? Are you doing anything specific when it reboots? Do you get any error messages when it reboots or is it just turning itself off?
maximum 2-3 per day!! Usually i'm just surfing net and writing program in VI. I didn't get any error messages. The screen just goes black and reboot ):
That's wacky, I would check the end of /var/log/messages next time it happens. That's obviously not normal behavior. You may want to use a boot disk and check the health of your HDD, but I don't know that I'd expect that to cause a reboot.
