[SOLVED] current update dipendency problem with nvidia

hi,

im having problems with update to new kernels..here is the error info:

error is: Multiple packages exist that are not compatible with each other.
This is usually due to mixing packages from different software origins.

ERROR with rpm_check_debug vs depsolve:
kernel-uname-r = 2.6.30.5-43.fc11.x86_64 is needed by kmod-nvidia-2.6.30.5-43.fc11.x86_64-185.18.36-1.fc11.1.x86_64
kernel-uname-r = 2.6.30.8-64.fc11.x86_64 is needed by kmod-nvidia-2.6.30.8-64.fc11.x86_64-185.18.36-1.fc11.2.x86_64
kernel-uname-r = 2.6.30.9-96.fc11.x86_64 is needed by kmod-nvidia-2.6.30.9-96.fc11.x86_64-190.42-1.fc11.1.x86_64

plz help me regarding the above issues...
one another question: what is fc11 doint here? for info: I had upgradd from fc11 to fc12 using preupgrade..

I ran into that one too. Remove all f11 kernels and kmod-nvidia modules and the issue should go away.

i have no f11 kernels in /boot i think, just a question where should i find those if not in /boot also where can i find kmod-nvidia modules...i tried locate but unable to find..

Don't allow the update like that... just curious about the output you get.

hi akmod doesn't help with 3d effect i think, but i can install other updates excluding nvidia using kpackagekit.. so update is not a problem for me...

You think wrong.

Using the akmod instead of the kmod... gets rid so many problems.
What happens if you do this:

yum update --exclude=kmod-nvidia*

Don't allow the update like that... just curious about the output you get.

Run these two commands, as root:

rpm -qa | grep kernel
rpm -qa | grep kmod

and inspect the output. Then, use yum to remove any redundant packages.

hallo sidebrnz..i had removed using yum..angry on me..why did i not thought about yum for earasing...but thanks..
commands were:
yum erase package
