K3b (Not burning correctly)

First off, I'd like to say hi to everybody, as this is my first post on the forums. I've been lurking these forums for awhile now, and I decided it was time to get a bit more involved.

My problem lies within K3b, and burning audio CD's. When I do a system check, no problems are found, however when I attempt to burn a CD I'm stuck at this screen. No matter how long I wait, it seems k3b won't write to the cd. Thank you VERY much for the help! I've been trying for hours to get this program to work, but nothing seems to help.

Re: K3b (Not burning correctly)

99 views and not one answer? I figured these forums would've been a bit more helpful... If I need to post more information, then just tell me what I need.

Re: K3b (Not burning correctly)

Not unusual to get lots of views but no help. How about this thought? Run the program as root from a terminal and see what happens. I remember there was an issue with K3B / wodim way back when. Thought it was fixed.

My notes on K3B (Fedora 10 vintage) tell me to make sure the dvd+rw-tools package is installed. I'm not running Fedora at the moment so I can't even check availability of that package. I also remember a few threads here about the aforementioned wodim with regard to user permissions, if I'm not mistaken. May be worth a search or two of the forum.

Oh, and welcome to Fedora Forum NyxathidHorror

Code:
yum info dvd+rw-tools
yum list dvd+rw-tools
yum install dvd+rw-tools
etc, etc, etc

lol you want to try the ubuntu forums - everyone on there is clueless it seems, biggest forum of questions with no answers i've ever seen. you can be reading a thread and literally tens of "me too" posts pop up within seconds, but nobody ever seems to fix the issues.

gotta say, the ubuntu people are better at filing bug reports (i guess as the forums are useless they go to the developers) than fedora people, maybe bugtracker is too user-unfriendly compared to launchpad.

and bitching about no replies is not going to endear yourself to people. if we don't know, we don't know.

i'm giving up with k3b, without an mp3 decoder (k3b-extras-nonfree) for f13 it can't even burn audio cd's.

Re: K3b (Not burning correctly)

Well, if no one knows what the problem is there may be no point in replying. I wasn't even sure if I should suggest what I did or not, so I almost passed this one over too.
