Need advice with an update process

Hi...

Was trying to install a fresh Fedora 13 x64 and encountered a stumping problem -

The latest updates have released the following four files
dbus-libs-1:1.2.24-1.fc13.x86_64
cups-libs-1:1.4.6-1.fc13.x86_64
libuuid-2.17.2-10.fc13.x86_64
libattr-2.4.44-3.fc13.x86_64

Consequently, any attempt to install adobe flash plugin, or adobe pdf reader, or HP Printer (all of which require 32 bit files) are facing challenge with yum - the yum system, after downloading all relevant i386 files, declares that these four files have "more later versions, and lists these 64 bit versions - and hence the transactions cannot be completed. Thereafter, it does not install any of the SW mentioned.

Neither can these 4 64 bit version files be removed from yum remove process - and in my limited knowledge of Fedora, I think that these 64 bit files must remain, and preferably coexist with their 32 bit counterparts, even if the 32 bit ones are older version numbers.

How do I install the 32 bit equivalents of these libraries without yum assuming that these 64 bits are NOT exactly more later versions of the 32 bit older version number libraries?

All advice, as always, I remain grateful for...
Thanks...

I dunno.

a) maybe you could try this? It's been working me but some have problems with it.

b) I don't use adobe reader any more. I do have it installed on a vm but I haven't needed it for a long time now.

Maybe you could try a LiveCD and see if it would help work around the issues?

Good Luck,

Re: Need advice with an update process

Thanks PatJr for your reply ... I think I need to wait it out till the person who released these libraries releases the 32 bit versions. Yum clearly states that these 4 (actually, now only three) libraries are not available in 32 bit archives.

Once that is done, I suppose these small issues will disappear ...

Thanks again ..
