Installing Adobe Flash

Hi

I'm a complete newbie to Fedora and am just trying F15 and just have this problem that is driving me up the wall.

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player and am getting no-where fast. I have searched in the forums and on the web, copying and pasting the entries I have found but keep getting all sorts of errors because basically I don't know what I am doing.

Can anyone please give me simple step by step instructions on how to accomplish this cos I'm about to stove my head in LOL.

Cheers

Mike

Re: Installing Adobe Flash

There are a good number of instructions in here for this.

I just use the YUM option in Adobe page
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP

after you install it, maybe like
#yum -y localinstall adobe-release-i386-1.0-1,noarch.rpm
(# means you're root)
or something like that
then you have to do a system update and accept the Adobe key for the repo
then you have to install the program, flash plugin
I usually use yumex so I can find it or I guess you could
#yum -y install flash-plugin
I think that will work
I'm experimenting with the 64 bit version. All I did was dl it and copy it to
~/.mozilla/plugins ( I think that's it )
(~ means your home folder /home/myusername/...)
but I'm the only user on this box and I'm not sure it really works, I've had this up for a while and it's starting to look like a High School lab frog.
You have to get the 64 bit version here

Re: Installing Adobe Flash

I'm using the 64 bit, and it works well.

See previous post. You need to make libflashplayer.so executable though, after it has been extracted:

#chmod 755 libflashplayer.so (as root).

Re: Installing Adobe Flash

As above, or just right click the file, Properties, register: "Rights", pretty below: "execute file as application" (similar to this, as i use german interface)

(i'm new to linux too, so i hope above is correct, just another way)
