unwanted qwerty keyboard popup

When I open a terminal the above popup comes with it. I haven't found a way to get rid of it other than closing the terminal. It hangs around in the way and there's no click and drag which is irritating when I have other aps expanded with it obscuring portions. It goes away when I minimize aps and comes back when I click on one to do something.

There's an icon to the left of "q" and clicking on that brings another popup "Caribou preferences." Having no better idea I erased "Caribou," without effect.

Interestingly, it's non-functional: clicking on a letter has no effect. Single/double clicking left/center/right doesn't do anything I can see.

Hopefully someone has more ideas than me. Everyone has more experience than me.

Puzzledly,
jeb3121

Sorry, a bit late here. I'm running F15 full version and have used the add/remove gui for a number of aps/support in a number of categories. Other than looking at every item in several categories and reading the descriptions I'm at a loss.

Re: unwanted qwerty keyboard popup

I think that can be disabled from a11y (the blue icon of the man), or else under System Settings, Universal Access, Typing Assistant (Screen Keyboard).

Hi Cazo,

In fact, both starting points work.

Seems like learning where to look is more than half the battle.

Thank you very much,
