Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
Is anyone else having a long shutdown time? It takes about a minute or two on average, sometimes longer, I'd say even a minute or two is excessive, windows shuts down in at least half the time.
Anyway to check what could be slowing it down?

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
I've got the same problem ....
It take a long time when I want to reboot my computer too. If I reboot the computer from the terminal, it's quick, but when I use the menu it takes ages, and I usually turn it off holding the power button.

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
What Kernel are you using? Use uname -r to find out. I started have a similar issue except on shutdown I have to hold the power button. I narrowed it down to kernels after 3.1.0-7. I just boot back to the 3.1.0-7.

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
I've had this annoyance with all of the 3.1.x kernels so far going back to F16beta.

Happens here, too ... but usually only after an update, or an application misbehaves.
It clears on the next boot ... unless there's another update.

So, it never clears, then?

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
systemd tracks this for startup, i'm not sure if it does or can be made to do the same for reboot/poweroff.
systemd-analyze blame

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
I recently started having this issue too, possibly with the last two kernels.
I'm currently using 3.1.4-1.fc16.i686 and it too has the issue.
Has any fix been found?
PS I haven't had the patience to wait for it to shutdown so I don't know if it will. I just power it off after some 30 seconds

None that I've heard of. But it only happens once in a while on mine. Have you fully updated?

Re: Slow shutdown In Fedora 16
Yeah, I have. The weird thing is that sometimes, it shuts down properly and other times, it hangs for a long time...
