local Firefox redirect rules
i think my local Firefox redirect rules have been corrupted by some malware that added a rule to redirect to some site when i go to another domain. e.g., every time i go to xxx.xyz.com, after 2-3 sec, it redirects me to xxx.abc.com.
i was wondering how to fix this, i.e. in which config file would be these rules?
thanks

Re: local Firefox redirect rules
Try wiping your cookies for that site. I had some squirrelly redirects to (CSS error & black screen) for amazon due o this.

Re: local Firefox redirect rules
If you want to try resetting your firefox settings to all defaults then rename /home/<username>/.mozilla/firefox directory.

Re: local Firefox redirect rules
Your ff cookies: ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/cookies.sqlite
Where "*" is your randomly generated user profile blob.

Re: local Firefox redirect rules
unfortunately, this didn't help. i went into the cookies.sqlite file using the Firefox add-on, deleted the rows associated with the site in question, reopened the browser but I still get redirected.
any other ideas what else i could try?
thanks

Re: local Firefox redirect rules
If it is redirecting after 2 to 3 seconds there may be a script on xyz.com redirecting you to abc.com. I would try hitting the red stop loading page dot before the 3 seconds are up, then view the page source of xyz.com.
