i installed vmware tools yesterday and it was working perfectly fine. the reason for that is i needed to share a specific folder from the host OS to the guest OS.
today, i was baffled that the shared folder cannot be found in /mnt/hgfs/
so i went out to check the config for the vmware shared folder - it was grayed out and asked me to install vmware tools.
i downloaded the tools, extracted it somewhere, accessed the folder and run the script ./vmware-instal.pl
then i got this error
Quote:
you have a version of VMware tools installed. continuing this install will first uninstall the currently installed version. do you wish to continue?
(yes/no): Yes
Error: unable to execute "/home/linux/vmware/vmware-uninstall-tools.pl.
