    em1 no longer working!

At the office had server working fine, installed Fedora 17 on a desktop pc and got samba to work just fine on it. Turned off server and put the fed 17 in the server. Em1 stopped working all together!!!!!!

I'm in BIG trouble here. Buy hard drive back in pc and em1 still not working.

I gave up and doing a fresh install with the new had in the server in hopes it fixes itself so far it's not looking good! I need help.

OKAY! I hooked up a netbook to modem sure enough connection failed. Hard reset modem and now it's working. Lost a **** load of hours BUT em1 works now. Omg I'm so happy.

    Re: em1 no longer working!

Consistent device naming (aka biosdevname) seems to have gone a little crazy in F17.
    http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=279659

I disabled it by adding "biosdevname=0" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub and ran grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg, which brought back eth0. Old-fashioned, perhaps, but at least it is consistent.

    Glad you got it working.
