Exclamation Databases in Linux

Hai,
I am a newbie and using Linux Fedora Core 1. Although there is much discussion about the mutimedia and networking capabilities of Fedora Linux, I don't find any related to Databases in Fedora. I want to know about all the databases (DBMS) available by dafault installation to Fedora Core 1.
1. Where could I find the information about data bases in Fedora?
2. I particularly interested in Oracle and is there any version available for Fedora Linux or whether there exist any DBMS in Fedora that challenge Oracle
3. Why are the Fedora People not much interested in DBMSs (according to myself)

Please comment on this matter

A quick google search will prove that there is a great deal of people using databases, including oracle with Fedora Linux.

Oracle (as proprietary software) is not included with Fedora Core. However, both mysql and postgresql databases are included. I've used both Oracle and mysql, and both have their strengths and weaknesses. The DBMS you choose really depends on the application. If you are just getting started learning SQL or want a lightweight (yet powerful) and realatively easy to use DBMS, I'd recommend mysql. Oracle is really geared toward a corporate environment.

Here are a few articles explaining how to install Oracle 9i and 10g on FC1
