Hey,

I had similar problems with amaroK and i finally switched its engine to xine (after upgrading to amaroK 1.3). GST was playing things too fast once i finally made it play mp3´s.

You probably don´t have the xine engine in there to choose from in the first place, i suggest you grab amarok-xine-1.3-5.fc4.kde.i386.rpm somewhere. After that just select it from the amaroK configuration under engine.

Worked for me,
Good luck

thx this works

but i miss the high frequency treble tones like in windows
I mean: in linux my sound doesn't play the treble sounds as clear as in windows (less sharp and less clear)

any idea what the problem could be?

Try changing the output plugin in the gtreamer configuration

The performance depends on the drivers. Therefore when you use different drivers the performance is gonna be different. You will have to tweak the settings according to your needs.

Yeah.. I had sound quality problems in linux too, I googled around a bit and looked up some docs on the alsa-project page... turned out that adding one line to some conf file gave crystal clear sound. Must be a similar solution to your problems too,

hi

where can i find those other drivers? I don't find any option to change the audio driver

And for the other answer: can you explain me what line I have to add to what file? I want to try it to, but I'm still a beginner, so I don't know much about linux and configuration files :-( I still have to learn a lot

thx
