error with gedit

When I use gedit as root this is the message I get. Gedit still loads and I am able to make any changes in the file.???

(gedit:6764): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.
