To solve a similar follow these steps:
1) turn off NetworkManager service and activate network service in the services gui
2) edit ifcfg-eth0 by putting nm_controlled=no
3) reboot
4) check connection to net, other servers if isn' t working to again step 1 by using chkconfig
5) check the samba share if it' s not working use smbpasswd -s username to reassign user then give him a password
I have installed Fedora 9 and tried to make a Samba server share but it doesn' t work. I tried fixing it, achieved some headway: the network wouldn' t work for eth0, the services would start at boot, the user wasn' t recognized.
The last error message is Error NT_STATUS_HOST_UNREACHABLE if I use smbclient from another Linux machine. The Windows says just it could reach the host.
