How to Install and run Vmware Server 2 on FC9???

Hi!

I`ve been trying to install VMWare Server 2, but whatever i do i fail. I am using Fedora Core 9. I downloaded .rpm from the vmware homepage, installed it. It shows up in the add/remove software list as an an installed package, but there are no icons and shortcuts under Applications --> System Tools. I tried to install VMWare Server 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 but i get stuck with this error.
Code:

Building for VMware Server 1.0.0.
Using 2.6.x kernel build system.
make: Entering directory `/tmp/vmware-config1/vmmon-only'

make: *** [vmmon.ko] Error 2

Unable to build the vmmon module.

For more information on how to troubleshoot module-related problems, please
visit our Web site at "http://www.vmware.com/download/modules/modules.html" and
"http://www.vmware.com/support/reference/linux/prebuilt_modules_linux.html".

Execution aborted.
Is there any additional magic needed to install VMware under FC9 that i`ve missed?

Edit:

ok, so looks like i may found a solution here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=283454&page=2 , but now when i try to install VmWare it says:
Code:
A previous installation of VMware software has been detected.

The previous installation was made by the tar installer (version 3).

Keeping the tar3 installer database format.

Error: Unable to execute "/usr/bin/vmware-uninstall.pl.

Failure

Execution aborted.
but there there is not Vmware server under add / remove software in the installed package list...

Or when i try to install .rpm package, it says

Code:
error: %pre(VMware-server-1.0.6-91891.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping VMware-server-1.0.6-91891
Can somebody help me out? I need the VMware to get to work really bad as fast as i can
