Exclamation fedora core on dell laptop

I have installed fedora core 4 on my laptop with configuration as
Dell inspiron 1420
but it is not detecting my soundcard ,cpu fan and some battery
configuration .
Please help me to add patch ...

There is no support for FC4. There are no more updates or fixes. It was dropped about 2 years ago. It's like asking how to install Windows 3.1. If you want help, install Fedora 9.

download fedora9, .. fedora 6 an below are ancient releases that are no longer supported an have not been for years, ..if you want support on a Distro.. go to Ubuntu 8.04LTS or if you continue with Fedora be aware your gonna have to update every 13 months to get support

Ubuntu is Debian based. Not a bad choice to learn Linux, easy to install.

If you want to stay with Red Hat flavor, go for CentOS, longer cycle there.

Yes, I think ubuntu is best choice for some dell lappy with support very good for dell laptop, I know new os call limpus which develope for acer laptop is good too

Yeah, I have to take your word for this. I have a dell laptop and X doesn't work very smoothly on it. I was using Fedora 10 Beta. The graphic card is built in. But it works great on ubuntu. I wonder why.
