Remotely "convert" a i386 installation to x86_64 (aka Cruzin For A Bruzin)

I have a remote system that's currently has an i386 F11 installation. I should have installed the x86_64 installation (there's a particular reason, that I wasn't aware of at the time).

Has anyone tried using yum to upgrade an existing 32bit installation to a 64bit installation? If so, could you share the lessons you learned?

Before anyone asks, the hardware is 64bit.

Thanks!
