kernel update-loose Gnome extra workspaces

After booting into the new kernel
Quote:
[denis@teinlung Desktop]$ uname -r
2.6.27.24-170.2.68.fc10.i686
and logging into Gnome it seems that my workspace switcher on the bottom panel only shows one and trying to change that to four with the preferences dialogue does not take effect haven't done the delete the .gonome2,.gnome2_private rename yet but any idea it that would work or is a single workspace now a system wide default? Will continue to tinker in the mean time
