why not just buy a regular old router?

I have never done this and can offer chatter, so I chatter away,
if you have to, I think there is a check box in the NetworkManager to share your connection, then you have firewall issues and SELinux to consider.

Good Luck,
Pat Jr.

Not done this for a while, but like PatMcLJr said, if you disabled iptables and selinux (to prevent them getting in the way, you can figure out how to re-enable them later), you just need to setup ip forwarding (edit /etc/sysctl.conf and set: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1) and setting up the correct ip routing (man route).

If i remember correctly (not always) but i think if you install firestarter, it has a option to bridge/share your connections.

yum install quagga squid
gugga will defsult to the old zebra router.
squid is a proxy server.
You can set up many cache items.
Make sure your laptop is a dns and dhcp sever to your local network.

May take some reading but will work because it is a real network, not windows connect share as described by the other posts.
The local machines can see each other and are protected by the gatway's firewall.
