for F12, im really not sure if ATI have released a driver yet for X-server1.7.x , you may have to wait for there 9.10 driver

im not even sure the 9.10 driver even supports the 2.6.31 Kernel either

yes, i installed everything. I have a feeling that I would be able to fun fine on GNOME but i really want to keep running KDE.....at this rate tho i might just give up... they only actual driver i can find for my video card is a vista one and i dont know if that can be compiled into a linux driver (honestly not sure how exactly that works)

Edit: also, would there be a reason that gnome worked fine for 11 but kde did not work.....could it really just be that my graphics card cant handle the kde desktop????

Thumbs down fglrx may be a long wait...

I too had a blank screen when xorg starts; using an ATI radeon 4350 card on a desktop system. The solution was to plug the analogue monitor line in and flick my monitor to that input.. I have not yet succeeded in getting the DVI connector to work in radeonHD/F12. I assume it's possible; but don't have time to pursue.

We are going to have to wait for fglrx on F12; the catalyst 9.10 driver only officially supports xorg 7.4, (and server 1.6 by inference.. if I understand this right). I think we need a new catalyst release with xorg 7.5/server 1.7 support; and then for the rpmfusion maintainers to package for the current kernel(s). I have no idea how long this may take, we are in the hands of ATI, a quick search for any schedules or meaningful discussion on this drew a blank.
