Belkin N USB wireless adapter

I'm new to Linux, and am having problems with my Belkin N USB wireless adapter. The first time I booted to Fedora 12 it recognised it, and connected to my wireless network, then about two minutes later it cut out. Now it does not have any lights on, I've tried moving it to other USB ports and still no response. Cheers

More specifically the adapter is F5D8055 v1

Hello bcvery

Welcome to the forum.

In Linux it's the chipset inside the device that determines how successful you will be in getting your card to work. Manufacturers have a nasty habit of changing the chipset and leaving the card number the same.

If you run:

Code:
lsusb
and post back the result we may be able to work out what it is.

Hello bcvery

That's odd. I don't see anything there that could easily be identified as a Belkin Wireless Card.

Could you run the command again with the same equipment plugged in, with the exception of the wireless card so I can easily identify it.

Hello bcvery

The important part of that output is the:

Searching for that on Google tells me that your device most likely has the rt2870 chipset in it.

This thread:

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...ghlight=rt2870

seems to have the "state of the art" Fedora position on it.

Hope it works out for you.
