I'm considering picking up a laptop within the next week or so, and I was wondering what the general feel of Sony VAIO is among the fine and wonderful Fedora community. Has there been any regularly occurring issues?
I have heard reports of overly loud fan noise and the inability to control fan speed in Linux as well as reports of VT being disabled by Sony and not being easily enabled. Any truth to these concerns?
Specifically I am interested in one of the new F series or CW series, anyone had any experience with these machines and Fedora? I appreciate any help you can provide.
EDIT:
I found this over at nvnews related to monitor/display detection on Sony VAIO laptops.

I'm still interested, but this definitely scared me into a need for more research. Anyone have any advice on laptop models/brands, I'm looking for a good solid machine that I can run a few KVM Vms in for testing purposes, maybe some light gaming along the lines of Neverwinter Nights and Quake Wars: Enemy Territory, any suggestions?
