Hi,
I'm trying to install Fedora 12 on a HP ProLiant ML530 G2 Server with two
Xeon processors. I'm using the normal DVD iso image (burned on a DVD).
My issue is: After the server booted from the DVD, the initial graphical installation type
screen shows up where I select the first option (new installation, not update). Then
the system switches back to text mode where I have to select the language and
after that step I have to select the keyboard layout. After selecting the Layout the
system asks me, where the installation image is. Don't know why the system asks
that because it should be on the DVD??? ;-) just kidding...
My problem is, that the installer only shows my existing partiotions of the existing
harddisk, where currently CentOS is installed. I have to press F2 to see other
installation medias. But there is only listed: fd0 and sr0.
After selecting fd0 or sr0 the installer tells me that no driver disk is found...
Does anyone know what's going wrong here?
I was able to install Fedora 12 with exactly the same DVD iso on a home pc without
problems. (Can't remember that the installer asked me such image location questions on
my home pc).
I can install CentOS on the HP server without any issues but I want to run Fedora.
Please, if someone has an idea, help me out :-)
Regards,
Christian

*SOLVED*
It was just the DVD drive. It looks like Fedora has no driver for it.
After I put in a newer one, installation goes like a charm.
