TIP: How to install propriatory NVIDIA

On an Acer, I tried installing the NVIDIA drivers, but it kept nagging me that the driver could not be loaded, because "nouveau" was loaded -- the nvidia drivers that come with Fedora 13.

The solution? I went into /etc/modules.d/blacklist.conf
and added "blacklist nouveau" in there.

Oh btw, try this after setting /etc/inittab to level 2, so it starts in text mode

Forgot to mention it.. glxgears went from 1000 to 5000

Re: TIP: How to install propriatory NVIDIA

If you have a look at the nvidia thread in my signature you will see that is part of the recommended procedure.
