Mysterious kernel panics

I've been getting these weird crashes ever since I upgraded my computer- the first time this happened, the caps lock and scroll lock keys kept flashing, but they haven't done that since. If I'm playing a sound file at the time of the crash, the last second or so of the sound will keep looping until i restart the computer.

other symptoms/details:
seems to happen randomly-past few times have been when system is idling
no records in logs
not fixed by reinstalling fedora
happens about once a day, though not at a fixed time
tried memtest86+ when i first got the computer, no errors (planning to try again tomorrow)

I've read things about trying to isolate the problem, but it's a bit difficult when it happens randomly and so infrequently. Any ideas?
