I've got a dual boot machine (windoze and FC12). Don't ask why, let's just call it legacy.
The issue is that ipconfig and ifconfig are reporting different MAC addresses for eth0. Why?
The only easy way that I've found to get around this is to disable NetworkManager and add "MACADDR=XX:XX:etc." to ifcfg-eth0 script in fedora. I'd rather not disable NetworkManager on my laptop.
I've got licensed software that depends on the MAC address for licensing. I'll have to buy a new license to switch to fedora? Ugh!
Any ideas why the two OS's are reporting different MAC's?
