Hi
I am in the process of upgrading one of my servers to F14, having successfully done two servers and three workstations already.
The server is running F13 and completed the download stage of preupgrade normally. On re-booting, it asks for networking information, connects to the network/internet and downloads the install image correctly. It then stops saying it cannot find the previous installation's root.
Looking at the console output reveals that it successfully finds the root lb, but the only error relates to the Fedora release 13 not being upgradeable..
I have tried editing grub.conf to put
root(hd0,0)
root=hd:UUID:/dev/mapper (using my specific values for UUID,etc.)
It doesn't help.
The server has a problem with dvds - it reads cds in the dvd drive but doesn't recognise dvds (it is quite old) - so this alternative is going to be problematic.
I successfully upgraded from F11 to F13 yesterday, believing that you should only upgrade max two versions in one go.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Nick
