why can't I see video on www.crackle.com?

Youtube and hulu videos play fine. But cracke.com just pulls up a blank black area and does nothing? What might I be missing? Using Firefox.

Not sure what videos you're trying to access from that site, however the ones I looked at played just fine. Source shows that they're Adobe Flash films. Got that loaded? (Set-up Guides will get it done).

Re: why can't I see video on crackle.com?

I'll check out the setup guides again. I am pretty sure youtube is flash and hulu too which do play fine. One of the first things I loaded was Adobe flash. Thanks!

For example : http://www.crackle.com/c/Best_Ranger..._Shoot/2483118
All I see is a 'brief' blink like something is going to happen and then stays blank.

Re: why can't I see video on crackle.com?

Hmmm... playing normally for me. I grabbed all my codecs through AutoTen. Might want to just confirm that all's set up with that. Also, any chance a FF add-on has blocked something?

uninstalled an reinstalled with autoten (flash and all codecs). Does the same thing. I pulled up the FF error console and saw this

... a mess of unknown properties and then

Permission denied for <http://oasc08006.247realmedia.com> to call method Location.toString on <http://www.crackle.com>.

I've got SELinux set to Permissive. Wonder if that's involved?

Hmmm...well, I'm at a loss (normal state).

Google has some info:
http://bytes.com/topic/javascript/an...374-what-error
http://forums.devshed.com/javascript...ng-321105.html
http://willperone.net/Code/as3error.php
... and many more. Say, have you tried Opera?

Downloaded Opera. Works in Opera.... So must be a FF bug?

Re: why can't I see video on crackle.com?

If you're using the beta of Firefox, it might be a bug. I can't test it as my webfilter blocks Crackle.

Re: why can't I see video on crackle.com?

Update....

Both Opera and Firefox has the problem if I run as normal user. If I run either application from root terminal (don't like) then all is well.

That is why Opera worked the other day as I had just downloaded it and installed it as root. Then immediately run it from same terminal. Didn't realize that until now
