unable to mount cd rom

hello goodday
i am a beginner in linux and i have installed fedora 14
i have problem in mounting the cdrom
blank cds are not mounted
tried a fedora live cd, its mounted
because of this i am unable to burn cds
requesting help

Blank CD's are not mountable as they do not have a filesystem on them.
If you want to burn CD's you may use:
k3b, brasero

thank u for ur reply
my problem is even using brasero i cant write anything to the cd
brasero asking to insert a blank cd
reffered through the net and i couldnt find a solution

which linux system are you using
my fedora 14 system crashed in my hp laptop yesterday
and i tried loading fedora 13 and its not booting after installation
i had to go back to windows 7
i would prefer using and exploring linux
could you pls suggest me a better distro

Feel free to ask questions, after all, thats what forums are for If you want to learn linux on an easier distro then two that are pretty good for beginners are PCLinux OS and Linux Mint.
